The Blues Scale ishandy to know as it is used by
players like Eric Clapton and Kirk Hammet.
This is it explained simply.
We'll take the A minor Pentatonic as our example.
The A minor Pentatonic contains the notes
A C D E G
The A Blues Scale contains the notes
A C D Eb E G
Notice that they are both similar except
the A Blues scale has an addtional Eb. This is the
basis of the Blues scale. It's simply a pentatonic
with a flat fifth.
To construct a Blues scale, simply find the flat fifth
of the root note and ad it in. Here is an easy way to
find the flat fifth of a note:

Above is an A5 powerchord. See that it is a root (A)
